My Endometriosis Story
If you've known me for a while, you know some of this.  If you are new here, welcome!

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis (when the lining of the uterus, called endometrium, grows outside the uterus causing much pain and potential infertility) in 1990 and I had laparoscopic surgery a year later.  All the endometrium outside my uterus was lasered away. In order to protect my fertility, my doctor recommended I go on shots indefinitely. (That is until I ready to have children, if I could have them. I was told I had a 50-50 chance.) So for 5 years my cycle was on pause.  But when I had a cervical cancer scare, I was recommended my by my oncologist to stop the shots.  So I did and all the pain came back. I started taking 1200mg of ibuprofen, then Tylenol with codeine and finally got a prescription for percocet that I never filled.  So I went on a quest to find how to heal my body naturally and it started with food and a little book called Fit For Life. For the next 5 or so years I researched and changed my diet, mostly Endometroisis books and learning about the raw food diet. I found that raw foods and juiced fresh fruits and vegetables could heal so much! Basically I would go all raw foods 3 days up to when my cycle started, had only raw juice during and then back to raw foods for another 3 days. The weeks in-between I would eat whatever, not knowing that I should have continued eating unprocessed foods at least. But this was a lot of work! It was a lot when I was single and not sustainable when starting a family. About a year and a half after my first son was born, I did more research and ended up doing my best to eat "clean" and unprocessed.

Thankfully I discovered oils in 2013 and found that between diet and these oils I found relief both physically and emotionally. How do I know? Because I was skeptical act first and would let some of the oils run out and then I would suffer the following cycle. So these are the oils that I never do without.

From Computer Programmer to Health and Wellness Educator

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! I’m Allison, momma to Jackson, Connor, Brady, and Keegan, married to Peter. We live in a Philly suburb here in Pennsylvania. Our life is beautiful and crazy, but we love each other, despite all the wrestling matches my boys host. We’re definitely a work in progress.

A little about me and how I got here...

I started out at Villanova for accounting, but soon found myself as a computer programmer creating websites in the mid-’90s. That lasted a few years before I decided to be a stay-at-home mom and I’ve never looked back!

In my 20s, I struggled with endometriosis, which began my journey into health and wellness—my true passion. I even blogged about eliminating an ovarian cyst through fasting! Now, I have a strong desire to help others by sharing my story and showing there's a better way.

Fast forward to my first son, Jackson. When he was a toddler, he decided to spray Shower Power in his mouth! Let’s just say Poison Control and I were good friends back then. Although I started my journey in the '90s with food, I didn’t fully connect the dots between cleaning chemicals and health until much later.

Today, I’m navigating life as a homeschool mom of one teen, a college mom, and I’ve just recently seen my two oldest boys get married! We also have two adorable mini poodles—our "girls"—to balance out the boy chaos. Homeschooling only one might seem simpler, but I’m busier than ever, balancing life and staying connected with my older boys.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and sharing my love for natural health, fitness, and homeschooling. Fresh milled flour has become a recent passion of mine. I love baking and with all the poorly processed flours out there, it’s no wonder so many are gluten-sensitive. I’m far from perfect!

I’m passionate about empowering moms, especially homeschool moms over 35 with lively children, so they can take charge of their family's health.

If that’s you, get in touch—I’d love to help.

Here is my story on YouTube.
