Welcome to Day 8 of the 14 Day Reset!
The snow has definitely made things interesting for homeschooling and our reset journey! With school pausing for sledding breaks and friends coming over to join in on the fun, we've had our share of winter adventures! Shoveling snow, dealing with icy conditions, and even squeezing in some basketball games, we've been keeping active and getting our movement in. However, we must admit, getting all of our lessons done has been a bit challenging. But hey, homeschoolers deserve some snow days too, right?

Now, let's talk about our food update. We're happy to report that we've been sugar-free, with the exception of Keegan's apple maple sausage in his omelette yesterday. We're not only staying away from basic sugars and high fructose corn syrup, but also honey, maple syrup, and coconut sugar. On these snowy days, soups and "stews" have been our go-to meals. Although we're not big fans of chili, we've found that bean-less chili, like taco soup, is a hit for our family.

When it comes to incorporating Ningxia into our routine, it's been the easiest for me because I absolutely love it! Keegan, on the other hand, doesn't share the same enthusiasm, but he's been taking it anyway. However, water intake has been a bit of a struggle for him. He hasn't been able to meet the recommended amount of water intake. For me, I fill four water bottles or cups first thing in the morning with THM sippers (herbal tea and lemon juice), Mineral Drink, and 32 oz of plain water. If I manage to finish all my water, I might treat myself to some sparkling water, but usually, I don't have enough room or time for any more liquid! Bed time wake ups are not my favorite!! I need to learn to finish my water within an hour after dinner. But unusually still have 1-2 water bottles left!

It's been an eventful week, and we're proud of the progress we're making on our wellness journey. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue on our 14-day reset challenge. Are you ready to join us? There is one very month and it’s typically the second Monday.

Allison

Hey there! I’m Allison, a homeschool mom of 4 boys, married to Peter. Three of my boys have graduated, and I still have one in high school.

We live in a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Life here is beautiful, a little loud, and full of wrestling matches. We’re definitely a work in progress, and that’s real life.

A little about me and how I got here...

I used to feel overwhelmed by all the information about health, ingredients, and creating a lower-tox home. There was always something else I could be doing, and honestly, I didn’t know what really mattered most.

Then I discovered that I didn’t have to change everything at once. I could start small, make simple swaps, and learn what actually worked for my family in real life. That made it feel doable.

Now I help busy, thoughtful moms in a full or changing season of life who want healthier, more intentional choices for their home and family but feel overwhelmed by where to start.

I help them simplify wellness, focus on what matters most, and make changes that actually fit real life.

If that’s you, get in touch. I’d love to help.

Here is my story on YouTube.
