Where have we been and homeschooling with a puppy
So where have we been these last few months? I'm going to share with you a much needed update: we got a puppy! Daisy Duke joined our family December 21 of last year!  She was born 9/11/21 and she and Peaches have the same mom, so they are biological half siblings.  We didn't plan on this happening so quickly.  Let me back up...my mom had to put her beloved min poodle, Cisco, down around Thanksgiving.  And she wanted a puppy around spring.  It took me 6 month or so to find Peaches, so I figured I would start calling around the William Penn Poodle Club for her since she wasn't up to it. Well, there were 3 puppies available from Peaches breeder in December! Two boys and a girl, one of the boys have the same dad as Peaches and the other 2 are siblings with Peaches mom.  I thought it would be great to get the siblings on for her and one for me, it would have been perfect as she wanted a boy and I wanted a girl and both were apricot in color.  It was too soon for my mom, but we ended up getting the girl.

If I'm being honest, we've had much trouble with Daisy and it was probably not the wisest decision to get her as I'm not getting as much help from my boys as they promise. Shocker.  Peaches was not a fan when we brought Daisy home either! She is very possessive of my husband and let Daisy know. Below you can see Peaches "protecting" Peter from the Intruder. Daisy is a biter, as all puppies are, and she wasn't sleeping through the night. Thankfully after a week sleeping downstairs on the sofa with Daisy in the crate next to me, she is now sleeping until 6:30! That is a huge improvement from waking at 2,3 and 4!  And Peaches is starting to have fun with her.

As for homeschooling with a puppy, in January and most of February we would rotate who would take her out every hour and did our best to get teaching in.  It was a lot with prepping for Essentials and twice I've had to take her to CC with us and actually taught with her in my arms!  Below is a picture of me doing math games with my Essentials students.

We are still training Daisy, well I do the majority of the training and hope that by summer she will be out of the puppy biting stage!  I think Keegan is in love!

From Computer Programmer to Health and Wellness Educator

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! I’m Allison, momma to Jackson, Connor, Brady, and Keegan, married to Peter. We live in a Philly suburb here in Pennsylvania. Our life is beautiful and crazy, but we love each other, despite all the wrestling matches my boys host. We’re definitely a work in progress.

A little about me and how I got here...

I started out at Villanova for accounting, but soon found myself as a computer programmer creating websites in the mid-’90s. That lasted a few years before I decided to be a stay-at-home mom and I’ve never looked back!

In my 20s, I struggled with endometriosis, which began my journey into health and wellness—my true passion. I even blogged about eliminating an ovarian cyst through fasting! Now, I have a strong desire to help others by sharing my story and showing there's a better way.

Fast forward to my first son, Jackson. When he was a toddler, he decided to spray Shower Power in his mouth! Let’s just say Poison Control and I were good friends back then. Although I started my journey in the '90s with food, I didn’t fully connect the dots between cleaning chemicals and health until much later.

Today, I’m navigating life as a homeschool mom of one teen, a college mom, and I’ve just recently seen my two oldest boys get married! We also have two adorable mini poodles—our "girls"—to balance out the boy chaos. Homeschooling only one might seem simpler, but I’m busier than ever, balancing life and staying connected with my older boys.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and sharing my love for natural health, fitness, and homeschooling. Fresh milled flour has become a recent passion of mine. I love baking and with all the poorly processed flours out there, it’s no wonder so many are gluten-sensitive. I’m far from perfect!

I’m passionate about empowering moms, especially homeschool moms over 35 with lively children, so they can take charge of their family's health.

If that’s you, get in touch—I’d love to help.

Here is my story on YouTube.
